The Lycian Way is a long-distance trail connecting historic paths, village roads and coastal routes across ancient Lycia. It begins around Fethiye and continues through Oludeniz, Faralya, Kabak, Patara, Kas, Demre, Finike and Olympos.
Walking the entire trail in one journey is not required. Many visitors choose selected stages according to their experience and available time. Western Lycian stages are especially popular for sea views and swimming opportunities.
The trail begins around Fethiye and continues east through the western and central Lycian coast towards Antalya. This overview shows the principal stops; the actual itinerary depends on the selected stages.

Meet in Fethiye, explore the rock tombs and Kayakoy area, then walk through pine forest and coastal viewpoints towards Oludeniz.
Walk beneath Babadag with panoramic views of Oludeniz, visit rural settlements and continue through Kirme to Faralya.
Follow a coastal route with Butterfly Valley views, continue to Aktas and reach Kabak Bay for a possible swimming break.
Walk above Paradise Bay, visit scenic Yassi Kaya and follow historic cisterns and forest paths towards Ge village.

The commonly accepted starting area is Ovacik near Fethiye, although some programs begin around Kayakoy or central Fethiye.
Measurements vary according to route alternatives. The complete route is generally more than 540 kilometres.
It depends on pace, selected stages, rest days and weather. A complete journey normally requires several weeks.
Beginner and moderate stages can be selected, provided participants can walk regularly and are medically fit for the program.
Spring and autumn generally provide more suitable walking temperatures. Summer can be extremely hot on exposed stages.
